EAA Members Take Top Honors at Reno

September 19, 2019 - Four of the six Gold classes in the 2019 STIHL National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nevada, were won by EAA members, highlighted by Dennis Sanders, EAA 299945, winning the Unlimited class in TMK 20 Sea Fury Dreadnought.

Additionally, Andrew Findlay, EAA 1034372, won the Sport class in Lancair Super Legacy One Moment; Lowell Slatter, EAA 92466, won the Formula One class in Gilbert DG2 Fraed Naught; Andrew Buehler, EAA 372966, won the Biplane class in Modified Mong Sport Phantom; Pete Zaccagnino won the Jet class in L-29 Delfin Just Lucky; and Chris Rushing won the T-6 class in AT-6B Barons Revenge.

The creation of a STOL Drag Race class was announced on Sunday at the conclusion of this year's National Championship Air Races. Starting in 2020, the STOL Drag Race class is the first new class created in 22 years, and will draw even more elite competitors to Reno each year.
