EAA, AMA Members Enjoy Reciprocal Admission Benefits at Both Organizations’ Museums

December 9, 2021 – Members of EAA and the Academy of Model Aeronautics now share a unique benefit, as members of either organization can now enjoy free admission at the museums for each of these associations.

The free admission will apply at the EAA Aviation Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, as well as the National Model Aviation Museum in Muncie, Indiana, hometown for the AMA. Active members of either organization can show their current membership card at the admission counter to receive free admission to either museum.

“EAA and AMA members share so many aviation interests that it makes sense for us to welcome members of either association to our museums,” said Ren Scott, EAA’s manager of partnership development. “Aviation enthusiasts are always seeking new experiences wherever they travel and this reciprocal agreement gives that opportunity while building on the close working relationship between EAA and AMA.”

The EAA Aviation Museum in Oshkosh is regarded as one of the nation’s top aviation museums, featuring approximately 100 aircraft on display, encompassing the entire history of personal flight. It also recognizes the spaceflight experiences of EAA members, such as astronauts Frank Borman and Joe Engle, whose personal archives are featured.

The National Model Aviation Museum is a seasonal operation in Muncie that is typically open from June through mid-September. It is dedicated to the preservation of flying model aircraft and features exhibits on free flight, control line, and radio control models held on the museum’s flying grounds. The museum also features virtual tours and digital collections available year-round.

“This arrangement is a natural extension for the close relationship between model aviation and recreational flight,” said Chad Budreau, executive director for AMA. “We welcome EAA members to come see us during our museum season and we appreciate EAA sharing its facility with AMA members worldwide.”

EAA and AMA already coordinate on a number of programs ranging from membership benefits to government advocacy. Both organizations are dedicated to welcoming participants to the world of flight in all its forms.
