EAA Launches Chapter Video Magazine, Members Respond

May 2, 2013 - This week EAA launched the first Chapter Video Magazine, a new monthly video series created specifically for viewing at local chapter meetings.

Featuring inspiring and entertaining stories that capture the spirit of EAA, these 20- to 25-minute video presentations can be downloaded and shown at chapters meetings using a projector or TV, or a laptop for smaller groups.

The first video in the series, which was e-mailed to chapter leaders on Wednesday, features an intimate look at bringing Paul Poberezny's North American P-64, an aircraft deeply rooted in the history of the organization, back to life. Other segments this month include an update from EAA Chairman Jack Pelton, a volunteer spotlight on 19-year-old Philipp Stute of Germany, and an over-the-shoulder look at steel tube fuselage construction.

Those in attendance at last weekend's EAA Chapter Leaders Academy in Oshkosh were treated to an early showing of this month's video. Here are some of their comments:

"I found the first episode to be a great mix of inspiration and practical information. Keeping in greater touch with the membership base will benefit the overall organization and will help EAA stay focused on the needs and wants of its members."

William Greenley; EAA Chapter 585; Watervliet, Michigan

"The Chapter Video Magazine should be compelling viewing for chapter members with all kinds of interests. I was very impressed with the quality of the production and the content as well. I am excited to begin showing them at our meetings."

Doug Hanson; EAA Chapter 231, Richmond, Virginia

"I liked the diversity of topics, including the update from EAA headquarters. To most members, the EAA staff is a bit of a mystery. These videos offer a pipeline to introduce leadership and staff while explaining what is happening behind the scenes."

Alex Becker; EAA Chapter 309; Charlotte, North Carolina

"Since the videos are only available at chapter meetings, the series will hopefully draw folks to the meetings, which will build camaraderie and a sense of community. From a leader's perspective, this will help me provide interesting content for my members on a slow month, and I'll be able to play it before and after meetings for anybody who wants to watch it on a busy month.

Paul Kendrick; EAA Chapter 170; San Luis Obispo, California

"These monthly videos allow me and others to look at what EAA national and other chapters are doing. The list of things EAA can do with this format is limitless."

Richard Stockton; EAA Chapter 52; Sacramento, California
