Ed Lubitz

EAA Canadian Council Member. Ed learned to fly and received his private pilot license on his 17th birthday. He helped his father build a Piel Emeraude, which he used to obtain flying experience for his commercial license. His first flying job was with Lamb Airways in Churchill Manitoba in 1965. In 1970 Ed began working on his master’s degree where in the summer he flew a Cherokee six equipped with an airborne thermal line scanner. Ed has built many homebuilt and ultralight aircraft over the years. Ed was part of a team who built the replica of the Silver Dart, the first powered aircraft in Canada. This replica flew in 2009, one century after the original Silver Dart first flew.
