Gary bought his first Navion in 1986. It was powered by a Continental E 205 engine. Since then he’s owned 4 other Navions - the latest with a Continental IO 550 B, 300 hp. He was first elected to the American Navion Society (ANS) Board of Directors in 1993 as Secretary, moved up to VP in 1996, and became President in 2000 - a position he still holds. The ANS is governed by a 9-member board of directors and they are elected by 40 Voting Members. The ANS became a Not-for-Profit Corporation, 501 C 3 in 2004. They assist their membership with owner-produced parts, some NOS parts, and camaraderie.
