Gen. Engle received is commission in the Air Force in 1957. He went on to fly the X-15, The Space Shuttle Enterprise test flights and two orbital missions on the Space Shuttles' Columbia and Discovery. He has logged over 11,000 hours of flight time and over 200 hours in space.
