John Barton is an A&P/IA with 12 years of experience in light and high performance general aviation, experimental homebuilt aircraft, and jet warbirds. From 2009-2011, he was crew chief of Race 67, the “Vampire” of the Reno Air Racing jet class, and is currently crew chief of the Scaled Composites Proteus. He is a 300 hour private pilot, and is (sometimes) helping build a Sequoia Falco F.8L aircraft. One of his first jobs was in a cabinet shop, an experience that inspired him to prefer wooden aircraft.
