Paul Buza


Dr. Paul Buza, is the founder of the Southern AeroMedical Institute (SAMI). His research with Delta Academy has developed new protocols in upset recovery. The successful integration of high altitude chamber technology, flight training devices and simulated ATC to teach pilots the dangers of hypoxia has been successful since 2007. The program is the first of its kind where pilots fly jet simulation in coordination with ATC while experiencing hypoxia in the chamber. He has developed clinical hyperbaric medical programs for regional hospitals and trauma centers. His facility is an approved triage site for NASA and he has conducted training and research for NASA. He is a professor at Wright State School of Aerospace Medicine and Florida Institute of Technology.
