I am a private pilot, IFR rated, whose typical mission was flying 1,000-mile trips in a small airplane. This forced me to constantly evaluate aviation weather reports. In this process I found inefficiencies and shortcomings with the preflight weather planning process and then purposed to resolve these problems. I developed a much more efficient system for pre-flight weather planning that leads to better decisions ensuring a safer flight.
