Richard G. Van Treuren served two hitches in the US Navy before joining the Space Shuttle Orbiter team in 1979. A lifetime fascination with Lighter Than Air has lead to numerous articles, three books and the five-part DVD Airship Video History Series. Van Treuren volunteers as editor of The NOON BALLOON, magazine of the Naval Airship Association. He recently produced an English language version of the German LTA textbook.
