Jack also serves on the EAA Warbirds of America board of directors, where he has served two terms as president.  He was in private practice as an aviation lawyer for 14 years.  In 2000, he joined Eclipse Aviation, where he served as vice president of business affairs until 2008. 

He joined SmithAmundsen, bringing with him his 25-year career which includes directing the legal and business needs of several major aviation companies, representing individuals and air carriers in FAA administrative law matters, and providing Congressional representation to aviation interests.

Jack is a member of the Lawyer Pilots Bar Association, the Aviation Insurance Association, and the NTSB Bar Association.  He started flying in 1976 an holds a commercial pilot certificate with airplane single-engine land and sea, multiengine, and instrument airplane ratings.  He holds authorized experimental ratings for the North American T-28 and the Aero Vodochody L-39.
