Pilot Proficiency Center at AirVenture

eaa pilot proficiency center

Do you have a mindset for growth no matter what level of flying experience you have? Do you aspire to improve your flying skills with better tips and techniques? Do you want to gain more profound knowledge to understand flying, teach, or fly better?

Then join us at EAA's Pilot Proficiency Center this AirVenture!

The Pilot Proficiency Center (PPC) Clinics and Advanced Aircraft Training Device sessions use Master Flight Instructor Rich Stowell's Nine Principles of Light Aircraft Flying. We have created an educational experience that rises above most instructional practices using the Nine Principles' broad categories of Mindset, Motion, and Mechanics.

We have raised the level of academic quality and gathered some of the best experts in the industry to present topics and provide instruction in the Redbird training devices. We have US National aerobatic champions, a former NASA astronaut and Air Force test pilot, FAA Designated Pilot Examiners, National and Regional Flight Instructors of the Year, and representatives from organizations like the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA), the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE), and the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) to name a few.

There are three ways to experience the Pilot Proficiency Center at this year's AirVenture.

  1. You can sign up for a training device session on the day of.
  2. You can attend one or several presentations offered during any of the half-day themed clinics without signing up for a training device session.
  3. You can attend several clinic sessions within the half-day theme you like, sign up for a training device session, and apply that newly gained knowledge with a specific training device session designed around that clinic's theme.
