EAA Staff Gearing Up for Your Arrival!

June 2015 - We’re very busy at EAA headquarters preparing for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015. Our various departments are working hard to accomplish our end goal: creating the best AirVenture experience. Here are a few of the many preparations taking place for AirVenture.
Human resources is in the process of hiring more than 600 people to fill four different positions: bartenders, retail associates, Camp Scholler registration guides, and security. Those positions help make EAA AirVenture run smoothly and successfully. They will complete the hiring process by the end of June.
Our membership team answers continuous calls about membership renewals in advance of AirVenture. They also get information requests about camping, flying in, and AirVenture daily highlights. The team is truly assisting EAA members, answering all of their questions to help them prepare for the convention.
Information technology is continuing efforts in expanding the grounds’ Wi-Fi accessibility by updating and installing new equipment. They are busy completing the AirVenture mobile application and upgrading the admissions system. The IT team is getting the grounds prepared for our vendors, exhibitors, members, and associates to arrive.
Publications just uploaded its July Sport Aviation magazine, which will be the featured issue distributed on the grounds at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015. This is the first issue that also incorporates EAA Experimenter within the magazine. Staff members are also being assembled for both the official daily newspaper for the convention, AirVenture Today, and Sport Aviation. Reporters, editors, photographers, and designers are working hard to produce the AirVenture Program, Visitors Guide, and Camping Guide so they’re ready for our attendees.
EAA’s marketing department is focusing on the design and development of the AirVenture 2015 mobile application. They are also working on the layout and design of the EAA Welcome Center and its accompanying structures on the grounds. In addition the team is creating marketing materials to promote AirVenture all over the world.
For the EAA grounds team, there’s always something to keep staff members busy, mowing 1,400 acres of grass, setting up various vendor tents, moving buildings, and landscaping the grounds, and the list goes on. With the help of volunteers, they are right on schedule and moving forward with numerous big projects, such as the new sound wall by Theater in the Woods and the brand new Vintage Plaza area. They’re almost done redoing the Main Gate and are excited for attendees to see all of their hard work. In addition the team is tasked with getting mopeds, the famous EAA VW Bugs, and the trams ready for opening day.
