EAA Chapter Helps Local Charity

October 2015 - My wife, Susan Nowicki, is a volunteer at a Ronald McDonald House in Winfield, Illinois. She does a lot of arts-and-crafts type programs with the children who have cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. She asked if our EAA chapter would put on a presentation on how airplanes fly. Of course I said yes because our group can always be counted on to pitch in. So, in preparation for the presentation, we built some rubber-powered airplanes called the AMA Delta Dart. Now, this really was not an EAA event, however the volunteers who helped with this feel that any time you promote aviation of any kind, you are helping the cause. And because we are an EAA chapter, the organization is looked at in a good light. So indirectly, this is just another way to help spread the word, keep the dream alive, and allow folks to be a part of something grand.
