339th Fighter Group Scholarship
Provides from 50% to full tuition to attend an EAA Air Academy session. Established in tribute to the 339th Fighter Group of World War II by Lt. Colonel Lee D. “Ike” Eisenhart, one of the squadron’s P-51 “Mustang” pilots and devoted EAA member.
Eldon Beresford Scholarship
Provides from 50% to full tuition to attend an EAA Air Academy session. Established in memory of Eldon Beresford, a 38-year veteran pilot for United Airlines. Special considerations for residents of Illinois, Iowa or Wisconsin.
Harold and Leona Boyles Memorial Scholarship
Provides from 50% to full tuition to attend an EAA Air Academy session. Established by Cecilia and Jerry Worth in tribute to Cecilia’s aunt, Leona. Special considerations for residents of central or northeast Wisconsin.
Harrison Ford Scholarship: Application deadline: January 31 annually
As EAA’s Young Eagles chairman from 2004-09, Harrison Ford made a wonderful contribution to the general aviation community. By funding this endowment, Angela and Jim Thompson have created an enduring legacy of Harrison's contribution to youth and general aviation. This scholarship will help young people achieve their dreams of flight at whatever level a need exists, with scholarship awards supporting EAA Air Academy, flight training, and academic tuition awards.
Hatz Biplane Association has generously set up this scholarship for a $500 award to help fund a youth to participate in EAA’s Air Academy.
Bury Family Scholarship
Provides from 50% to full tuition to attend an EAA Air Academy session. Established by longtime EAA member and board member emeritus Carl. F. Bury, this enduring scholarship is in tribute to beloved family members who have gone west: his wife, Marion, and sons Eric and Carl.
Dean William Carson Air Academy Scholarship
Provides from 50% to full tuition to attend an EAA Air Academy session. This scholarship is established by the Carson Family in memory of Dean William Carson, a dedicated pilot who was passionate about life, his family, and who was a proud EAA Young Eagles pilot. Special considerations for residents of Southern California, age 14-18, with serious intent to pursue aviation related studies beyond high school, and a 2.0 minimum GPA.
Allen L. Davis Scholarship
Provides from 50% to full tuition to attend an EAA Air Academy session or supports participation in other EAA education programs. Established in tribute to Allen L. Davis, pilot, CFI and General Motors automotive engineer.
Cheryl Deamer-Boykin Memorial Scholarship
Provides from 50% to full tuition to attend an EAA Air Academy session. Established in memory of Cheryl Deamer-Boykin an aviation enthusiast and former chief administrator of West Marion Community Hospital in Florida. Special considerations: First consideration extended to residents of Marion County, Fla., and residents of surrounding counties served by Ocala Regional Medical Center.
EAA Chapter 579 Scholarship
Provides a $1,000 scholarship to EAA's Air Academy. Established by EAA Chapter 579 (Aurora, Illinois), and represents a combination of the Daniel Kelley Young Eagle Scholarship Fund and contributions to the Roger Mahr Aviation Experience.
Thomas Ellsberg Scholarship
Provides a minimum of 50% tuition to attend an EAA Air Academy session or supports participation in other EAA education programs. The scholarship honors the memory of Tom Ellsberg an aerobatic pilot known for flying "The Oregon Streaker."
J. Andrew Garratt Memorial Scholarship
Provides $500 (or more) to support young women’s attendance at an EAA Air Academy session or supports participation in other EAA education offerings. Provided by two-time "Earthrounder" CarolAnn Garratt in tribute to her brother, Andy. Special considerations for females with at least a 3.0 GPA required for high school courses.
Leo Giles Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Leo Giles, this scholarship helps to fund a young person to attend EAA’s Air Academy.
John W. Hicks Scholarship
John Hicks had a deep appreciation for the simple grace and elegant art of flying. He started flying young, with his first flight at eight years old. This scholarship was created to honor John’s life and to support two applicants at $500 each to attend EAA’s Air Academy camp.
Don T. Hopkin Memorial Scholarship
Provides tuition and associated costs for up to three youths to attend an EAA Air Academy session. The youth will be selected from the EAA Chapter 692 area in Stuart, Florida. The scholarship is in memory of Don and his EAA Chapter in Stuart, Florida. Don had a passion for flying and the water and this endowed scholarship was established to benefit youth who have an interest in flying. In the event a student from the Stuart area is not selected, the scholarship will be open to any deserving student approved by the scholarship selection process.
Jimmy Leeward Scholarship
Jimmy was a renowned American air racer whose love of flying was evident throughout his life. This scholarship, created by his family, was created to honor Jimmy and to help a young person interested in attending EAA’s Air Academy.
Jason Kurt Lohr Memorial Scholarship
Provides up to full tuition to attend the EAA Air Academy Advanced camp. Established in tribute to Jason Kurt Lohr, a devoted and enthusiastic aviator. Special considerations for St. Louis area applicants.
Russell MacFarlane Scholarship
This scholarship, which ranges from $500 to $1,000, is awarded to young people interested in attending EAA’s Air Academy. The scholarship donor is very passionate about EAA and wants every opportunity to help young people learn about aviation.
Jack Mark Scholarship
Created in Jack Mark’s honor as he considered scholarships to be very important, especially to provide support for local youth to participate in Air Academy.
The Michael Neunteufel Scholarship
In September of 2006, Michael Neunteufel died in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident. His two passions were flying airplanes and riding motorcycles. FOMT (Friends of Michael Tom) is an organization formed by friends and family of Michael Tom that helps raise money to fund this scholarship. First consideration will be extended to candidates from the greater Chicago area, but other qualified candidates will be accepted. All scholarship applicants are expected to secure an endorsement from a chapter member in their locality or from an at-large EAA member in good standing.
Donald H. Nietz Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was set up to honor the life of Donald and his desire to impact future aviators and to help support a young person interested in attending EAA’s Air Academy.
Tim C. Peterson Scholarship
This scholarship was set up to remember Tim Peterson. Tim shared our passion of fostering aviation for the future generations and this scholarship is a way to share that passion with others. This scholarship ranges from $500 to $1,000 and is awarded to young people interested in attending EAA’s Air Academy.
Wallace Peterson Scholarship
Provides a $500 scholarship for use toward flight training or to attend an EAA Air Academy session. Established in memory of Wallace Peterson, an aviation enthusiast who fell in love with airplanes while watching them take off from a dirt strip near his home in Omaha, Nebraska, this scholarship will help put another young person on the path to a lifetime love of flying. Special considerations extended to applicants from Nebraska, though applicants from any state will be considered.
Richard P. Reitz Memorial Scholarship
Provides 50% tuition (minimum) to attend an EAA Air Academy session or supports participation in other EAA education programs, including internships. Established in memory of Richard P. Reitz whose passion is meant to be shared with young aviators. Special considerations for residents of the Tampa Bay, Florida area (counties of Citrus, DeSoto, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk & Sarasota).
David & Andrea Robertson Scholarship
This endowed scholarship provides $500 each year to support participation in an EAA Air Academy session. Scholarship fund provided by EAA members David and Andrea Robertson. Special considerations for those with financial need or disadvantaged.
Neale Slater Memorial Scholarship
Provides a scholarship to attend an EAA Air Academy session or supports participation in other EAA education programs. Established to honor the memory of Neale Slater by retired USAF Colonel and long-time EAA member Raymond B. Bottom.
Terry and Kimberly Slawinski Youth Aviation Achievers Award
Two or more awards are made available each year, divided equally between female and male applicants. Funding provided by EAA members airline Capt. Terry Slawinski and USAF Col. Kimberly Slawinski, M.D.
Glenn A. Smith Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship fund was set up by many friends of Glenn, who died while performing in 2012, to pass on his love of aviation to the next generation. This scholarship provides one full scholarship to attend Air Academy. First consideration will be extended to candidates from Dallas, Texas, but other qualified candidates will be considered.
James Stafford Memorial Scholarship
Funds support one or more scholarships each year for and EAA Air Academy session or other EAA education offering. Scholarship established in tribute to EAA member James M. Stafford of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
Washington County Pilots Association Scholarship
Provides scholarships to attend an EAA Air Academy session. Established by the Washington County (Indiana) Pilots Association. Special considerations for residents of Washington County, Indiana.
Robert B. Wronke Memorial Scholarship
Provides 50% tuition to attend an EAA Air Academy session or other EAA education offering. Established in tribute to Robert Wronke, a great fan of EAA and the city of Oshkosh.
Zieve Family Utah Scholarship
This fund provides 75% to 100% tuition for a youth from Utah to attend an EAA Air Academy session. It was established by Joel and Ann Zieve, business owners and aviators from Northern Utah, to encourage students with a passion for aviation to pursue their dreams and not let any challenge (financial or otherwise) get in their way. Special considerations for Utah residents, those with financial need, and GPA of 3.0 or better.
