One Week Wonder Final Paint Schemes Selected

July 12, 2018 - After starting out with 10 paint schemes from Scheme Designers, the field has now been narrowed down to the final three for voting at the One Week Wonder tent during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2018. The paint scheme contest is being presented by Sherwin-Williams Aerospace, who is also providing the paint for the aircraft.

The goal of the One Week Wonder is to build an RV-12iS from a kit to a taxiing aircraft in just seven days during AirVenture. The all-volunteer build will take place at the EAA Four Corners. Anyone visiting the booth will have the opportunity to pull a rivet on the One Week Wonder.  All who participate will get a One Week Wonder pin, sponsored by Aircraft Spruce, and a commemorative photo.

“All three designs would look great on the aircraft,” said Charlie Becker, the EAA staff member leading the project. “Now we just need our members to help pick the winner. The best part about the One Week Wonder is how the industry is so willing to support this project,” he said. “In fact, Rose General Aviation Solutions just signed on to paint the aircraft after the flight testing is done.  Having a professional paint shop handle the painting will make sure the final paint scheme looks fantastic!” 

Balloting will be open at the One Week Wonder booth through Saturday July 28 and the winner will be announced on Sunday at 10 a.m.
