General Aviation Camping and Parking Areas
Starting on Friday, July 21st, this web page will report the status of the General Aviation Camping and the General Aviation Parking areas.
Showplane Camping and Parking Areas
Showplane areas accommodate experimentals (homebuilts), warbirds, production aircraft manufactured prior to 1971, ultralights, and amphibians. These areas are expected to remain open for the duration of AirVenture 2017.
This section will be used to report field conditions at Wittman Regional Airport. Most aircraft will need to taxi on designated turf areas, including temporary grass taxiways. Volunteer crews will have marked areas not suitable for taxiing aircraft. As always, pilots should keep a sharp watch for obstructions and traffic cones whenever taxiing off of paved surfaces.
Airport Layout Information
Note that the stub taxiways north of Runway 9/27 have been renumbered. The 2017 AirVenture NOTAM (page 13) shows the current configuration. Be sure to have a copy of the 2017 NOTAM with you when you arrive. A free, printed copy of the NOTAM can be ordered at www.eaa.org/notam.
Next planned update to this page: July 21st, 2017. Have a great flight!
