Below are "real world" examples of VFR flights to and from Oshkosh during AirVenture. The flights were made in EAA's Young Eagles GlaStar during AirVenture 2011.
The pilots on these videos are the two volunteers responsible for producing the annual AirVenture NOTAM. During the "rest of the year," Rick Polete is the Air Traffic Manager at the FAA Evansville Indiana Air Traffic Control Tower and Fred Stadler is a volunteer pilot at EAA's Pioneer Airport in Oshkosh. They work together each year coordinating input from the various FAA and EAA groups that determine NOTAM procedures.
These videos were produced to supplement the instructions printed in the NOTAM. They made the flights during what they hoped would be a busy time for arrivals, mid-morning on AirVenture opening day.
