Preserving the network of general aviation airports is critical to the health of recreational aviation. EAA works with local stakeholders to ensure that airport policies and regulations are crafted to enhance the experience of belonging to an aviation community.
After all, airports are where we gather to fly together, and the local rules and regulations should encourage a sense of communal gathering space.
EAA works for the maintenance and expansion of the private airstrip network by helping relieve airstrip owners from the threat of liability when the public uses their land for recreational aviation activities.
We also protect our airports from many threats including encroachment by non-compatible development, non-aviation friendly local governments, and adverse policies.
