Can I use the Chapter Video Magazine as the main program for our meeting?
Yes. The video segments can be your chapter’s main program or used to supplement other scheduled programs. The ability to choose from a library of video segments leaves time for other chapter business before or after.
Who can download and play the Chapter Video Magazine?
Only EAA chapter leaders receive a link and password to download the monthly videos. That includes chapter presidents, vice presidents, secretaries, treasurers, newsletter editors, and Young Eagles coordinators. Although EAA sends the link to all chapter leaders, we ask that you designate one person in your chapter to download and show the videos at your chapter meetings each month.
What will the videos be about?
You will receive a monthly update from EAA Headquarters keeping you updated on the latest news and happenings in EAA and the aviation world.
We will also provide you a library of content that you can include with the monthly update to show at your meetings.
- A feature video collection of videos that capture the "Spirit of EAA" and the broader aviation community through a variety of subjects. You can select the type of video you show based on topic interests or types of aviation you want to showcase.

Can these videos be shown outside of a chapter meeting?
No. We ask that these videos only be used at chapter meetings as our goal is to create interesting, unique content that members will have to attend your chapter meetings to see.
Can I share the download link and password?
No. We do not want people accessing or viewing these videos outside of your monthly meetings, so please do not forward, share, or publish this information with anyone outside of your chapter leadership.
How long will each video be available to download?
You will have access to the last three editions of the monthly Chapter Video Magazine. Remember, the password to download these videos is unique to each issue, so you will have to reference the email you received for the month you want to download.
How large is the video file? How long does it take to download?
The video files are 250-300 MB in size. Based on average Internet connection speeds, each video will take about 15 to 20 minutes to download.
Do I need to sign up to download the video files?
No. You only need the link and password we provide at the beginning of each month to download the video files to your computer.
How do I play the videos?
To play the video, simply double-click the file once it’s downloaded. Your computer will automatically play the video file using its built-in video player. Video players that support the .MOV file format include QuickTime, RealPlayer, and newer versions of Windows Media Player. If your computer doesn’t automatically play the video, you will need to download a video player that supports the .MOV file format. We recommend downloading the QuickTime video player at www.Apple.com/quicktime. Additionally, the resolution of these video is 853 x 480, but we recommend you playback the video at full screen.
Is Internet required at the meeting location to show the videos?
No. Since the video file will be downloaded to your computer, you will not need Internet access at the meeting location to play the videos. Internet access is required to download the videos to your computer before the meeting.
Can we stream the videos off the Internet at our monthly meetings?
Even if your chapter location has Internet access, you will first need to download the video file to your computer to be able to play it. Video streaming is not available at this time.
What is the purpose of these videos?
- To enrich your monthly meetings by providing interesting content that inspires, educates, informs, and entertains
- To provide content that can only be viewed at your monthly chapter meetings
- To keep your members up to date on their organization
- To expose your members to opportunities/resources
- To grow participation in your chapter and general aviation
Is there a cost for these videos?
No. These videos are being created free of charge for chapters. Because there are production costs in creating these videos, a sponsorship may develop at some point. However, our goal is to keep advertisements to a minimum and make sure they serve your members’ interest.
I didn’t receive a download link and password. What should I do?
It is possible that your spam filter blocked the email. Please check your junk mail folder to make sure you received the e-mail. If you are a chapter leader and you are not receiving the monthly e-mails, please contact the EAA Chapter Office at 920-426-5912 or chapters@eaa.org.
