2024 EAA Air Academy Reservations Now Open

EAA

September, 2023 —  EAA is now taking reservations to send young people ages 12-18 to the EAA Air Academy in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in 2024. All EAA chapters and squadrons can make a reservation to send a youth to the Air Academy. This is a wonderful opportunity for youths to become involved in the world of aviation, and it gives your chapter the ability to support the dreams of a deserving youth with a passion for flight.

These weeklong camps allow youths to participate in a variety of activities to teach them about aviation. These activities range from building flyable model aircraft, to ground school sessions on flight science and aviation history, to workshops where they can learn technical skills involved in aircraft construction, restoration, and maintenance. Attendees are housed in the Air Academy Lodge on the EAA grounds. They receive tours of the EAA Aviation Museum and Pioneer Airport. Weather permitting, the youths also receive flights in both an airplane and a helicopter.

Please fill out the EAA Air Academy Chapters Reservation Form to secure a spot at next year’s Air Academy for your chapter’s youth candidate. Make sure to follow the reservation procedures explained on the form. Openings are filled on a first-come, first-served basis!

There will be three camps available for 2024 attendees, with two sessions per camp:

EAA Young Eagles Camp (for 12-13-year-olds) - $1,000
  • Session 1: June 16-20, 2024
  • Session 2: June 22-26, 2024
EAA Basic Air Academy (for 14-15-year-olds) - $1,300
  • Session 1: June 28-July 3, 2024
  • Session 2: July 8-13, 2024
EAA Advanced Air Academy (for 16-18-year-olds) - $1,650
  • Session 1: July 16-24, 2024
  • Session 2: July 26-August 3, 2024

If your chapter has Young Eagles Credits available, then you can use these credits to help send a young person to Air Academy. On the Chapters Reservation Form, you can choose to pay the $200 reservation deposit with Young Eagles credits. After your reservation has been secured, the Air Academy staff will contact your chapter and ask how many of your remaining Young Eagles credits you want to use for your youth attendee. These credits can cover up to 100 percent of an attendee’s tuition, and they can also cover the transportation costs of sending a youth to the academy. To check how many credits your chapter has available, go to EAA.org/YECredits.
