Poberezny Legacy Tour FAQs

Why do I have to pay for a ticket when I'm already a member/lifetime member?

All proceeds will go towards the general care and upkeep of the Poberezny property.

Can I bring a backpack/large bag with me on the tour?

Yes, but you will be required to leave your bags in a designated area that will have a security guard present at all times.

What do I do if I need to cancel my ticket purchase or change my tour day/time?

To make any changes to your existing reservation or to cancel a tour reservation, contact Etix customer service at 800-514-3849. A 24-hour advance notice is needed to make any changes.

Where do I check in?

Tours during the year: Check-in will take place at the main counter in the gift shop at the EAA Aviation Museum. Upon entering the museum, turn to the left and go to the Poberezny Legacy Tour "will call" counter. After you have checked in, you may proceed to the bus stop located outside the main entrance. The bus will be marked Poberezny Legacy Tour.

Tours during AirVenture: Check-in will take place at Forum 7 located within the AirVenture grounds on Knapp Street, just north of James Ray Boulevard. After you have checked in, you may proceed to the bus stop located across Knapp Street at the Blue Barn. The bus will be marked Poberezny Legacy Tour.

Where does the tour begin?

Tours during the year: After you have checked in, you may proceed to the bus stop located outside the main entrance. The bus will be marked Poberezny Legacy Tour.

Tours during AirVenture: After you have checked in, you may proceed to the bus stop located across Knapp Street from Forum 7 at the Blue Barn. The bus will be marked Poberezny Legacy Tour

What should I bring with me?

Please remember to bring your ticket to check in. This can be a printed version or on your mobile device.

Will the buildings have air conditioning?

The West Wing, Annex, and the Memorial Garden will not have air conditioning.

Can I bring a camera and take pictures/videos?

Nonflash photography is allowed everywhere on the tour. Any other recording is prohibited.

Are there designated smoking areas?

The Poberezny estate is a smoke-free property. There is no smoking, including e-cigarettes, anywhere on the grounds.

Is there a restroom area for the public to use?

Yes, there will be portable toilets available.

Do you allow pets on the tour?

We do not allow pets, with the exception of service animals. Service animals must be wearing the identifiable assistive-companion vests and remain under the control of their handler at all times. Please keep in mind there is open memorabilia that could be knocked off tables and walls.

Is the property wheelchair accessible?

We provide a bus that accommodates wheelchairs to transport visitors to the estate. Sidewalks and driveways to and from each building are paved.

Can I drive myself to the estate if I miss the bus?

We do not allow tour guests to drive themselves to the property. Although it is on display, it is still private property.

How long does the tour last?

The Poberezny Legacy Tour lasts 90 minutes.

When are the tours?

Tours during the year: There will be tours during the following months: September, October, April, May, and June. Each tour takes place on the second Saturday of the month at 11 a.m.

Tours during AirVenture: There will be tours during the week of AirVenture taking place Monday through Saturday at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.

How do I order tickets?

You can click the "buy tickets" button and purchase your tickets through Etix. Please be sure to bring a printed or digital (on a mobile device) version of this ticket to check in.

What if I miss my tour?

You will be put on standby/waitlisted for the next available tour.
