FILMS, SPEAKERS, ULTRALIGHTS, AND A BUBBLE RUN HIGHLIGHT JUNE EVENTS AT EAA AVIATION MUSEUM

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — (May 25, 2017) — The EAA Aviation Museum is home to many special events and programs throughout the year. Events for June 2017 include the following:

Memphis Belle: June 1, 2017

The 1990 film, Memphis Belle, will play in the Skyscape Theatre Royale on Thursday, June 1, at 6:30 p.m. Admission cost is free for EAA members and $5 for nonmembers. The film will feature the crew of a famed B-17 as they battle through European skies to complete their 25th and final flight.

Bubble Run: June 3, 2017

Adults, children and strollers run, walk, dance and play across three miles of fun. Every half mile, participants will run through foam bogs where there is enough colored foam to cover you from head to toe! Proceeds from the run will go to charity organizations including Sean’s Fund and the A-T Children’s Project.

The first heat at 8 a.m. located on AirVenture grounds is sold out. A second heat beginning at 9 a.m. is still open for entries. The race is $50 for each individual. Please see http://bubblerun.com/upcoming-locations/oshkosh-wi-2017/ for details.

My Very Dearest Anna: June 15, 2017

As part of the Aviation Adventure Speaker Series, Kara White will discuss projects from her book My Dearest Anna, which explores her grandparent’s letters during WWII and documentary film work on Monday, June 15, at 7 p.m. in the Founders Wing of the EAA Museum. The cost is free for EAA members and $5 for nonmembers.

Ultralight Day: June 17, 2017

Two dozen ultralight and light planes will descend onto the grass airstrip of Pioneer Airport from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 17. The planes will perform proficiency events including accuracy landing, bean bag drops and torpedo run contest starting at 1 p.m.
