Presenter: Alicia Herron

On December 19, 2015, a Piper Lance departs from San Jose, CA, en route to Henderson, NV. The pilot and his family are flying to a friend’s surprise party despite a poor weather forecast. As conditions worsen in flight, the VFR-only pilot presses on, and eventually accepts an IFR clearance – a choice that leads to tragedy. In this seminar, join your AOPA Air Safety Institute presenter to examine links in the accident chain and discuss lessons learned to make you a safer pilot.
