Weather Technology in the Cockpit
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Location: EAA Pilot Proficiency Center
Presenter: Mel Futrell, Ian Johnson
Despite significant increases in the capability and availability of weather technology to the GA community, weather-related incidents continue to occur at the same historical rates. The Weather Technology in the Cockpit (WTIC) program is just one of more than thirty GA projects directed by the FAA Center of Excellence' Partnership for the Enhancement of GA Safety, Accessibility, and Sustainability (PEGASAS). WTIC aimed to identify weather-related contributing factors of accidents and incidents, to help determine, and perhaps enhance, the capability and use of cockpit weather information products and services.
