NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center

Al Bowers is the Chief Scientist at the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center. Al spent 20 years as an aerodynamicist and as chief engineer of the NASA F-18 HARV, the SR-71A, and the F-106A Eclipse aerotow. Al was an aerodynamicist on the F-8U Oblique Wing, and the X-29 Forward Swept Wing. Al has also been the Chief of Aero, the Deputy Director of Research, and Director of Aero Projects and has the NASA Exceptional Service Medal and the NASA Exceptional Engineering Achievement Medal.
