Jack Dueck
Jack DueckChairman, EAA Canadian Council
Jack Dueck is a 25-year EAA member who is an experienced aircraft builder, aeronautical engineer and EAA chapter founder. Jack is chairman of EAA’s Canadian Council, a group of members dedicated to assisting EAA members in Canada and advising EAA headquarters staff on policy for Canadian aviators. He is also a former member of EAA’s Homebuilt Aircraft Council and serves as an EAA Technical Counselor, Flight Advisor, and SportAir Workshop instructor.
Jack has built and restored a number of aircraft over the past 50 years, including an RV-4, an RV-9A (helping his wife’s building project), a tube-and-fabric high-wing, and several Luscombe restorations. He is rated as an MD-RA inspector for Transport Canada and served as EAA’s representative to Transport Canada’s Recreational Aircraft Working Group. Jack has written numerous articles for EAA’s publications, authored an EAA how-to book titled “Sheet Metal Building Basics” and been featured in a number of EAA’s “Hints for Homebuilders” video segments. He also has been a monthly column contributor to the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association magazine for many years.
Along with his training as an aeronautical, mechanical and structural engineer, Jack holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Calgary. He has a Canadian private pilot certificate with multi-engine and instrument ratings, and has logged more than 6,000 hours as pilot-in-command.
