Lt. Col. Craig MacVeigh

Craig is an Aeronautical Engineer, a Retired Marine Officer and an amateur Aviation Historian. His first flight was in a Champ on Floats when he was 17. His first Solo was in a T-28. He bought a ’39 AERONCA Chief when he was 24. Along the way, he got a couple of other AERONCA projects. Rarely was one together and flying. It became a joke that his goal would be to collect one of every model Aeronca ever made. After 40 years, he’s made a good effort on that goal. He is President of the National Aeronca Association. This organization, started by Jim Thompson, is the oldest AERONCA group and the only aircraft association still supported by the original factory, currently part of Magellan Aerospace.
