Aviation pioneer and author Mary Bush Shipko was hired in May of 1976 as the first woman pilot for Hughes Airwest. At that time, there were less than five women airline pilots in the United States, today there are over 5000. Born into an aviation family she hung around her dad’s FBO from an early age, learning to fly in High School. An inspirational speaker she holds a MSW from UGA in GA.
