In 2018, Derek Rowe (TN) and Angie Verissimo (IN) met through a mutual friend at the EAA Airventure in Oshkosh, WI. It was the experience of being around 60,000 airplanes and thousands of pilots that they saw the need for younger students to be a part of the aviation family. In Jan 2020, Aviation USA was formed to bring Aviation Technology nationwide. A program was designed to educate high school students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
