Troy Asher is a research test pilot and aerospace engineer at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center, Edwards, California. He joined NASA in 2008 following a 24-year career as an air force officer and test pilot, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He is currently Armstrong's Deputy Director for Flight Operations, managing a 300-person flight research operation with over 25 aircraft of 11 different types.
