EAA WEBINAR SERIES’ POPULARITY MEANS ADDITIONAL SESSIONS FOR APRIL/MAY 2020
Special focus on homebuilt aircraft in new Thursday night webinars
EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — (April 10, 2020) — The increased popularity of EAA’s weekly webinars in recent weeks has led to the addition of new Thursday night sessions for April and early May, specifically focused on homebuilt aircraft.
The additional webinars will feature experts from kit manufacturers and areas of homebuilder support. With these additions, EAA webinars will take place up to three nights a week for the immediate future. The EAA webinar series has seen major growth over the past six weeks and allows expansion of the program that reached a record 29,000 people in the 12 months ending February 29, 2020.
“The capacity crowds we’ve welcomed over the past 10 days for our webinars show a real desire for aviators to stay connected with the flying community, even if they can’t personally connect at their local airport or hangars,” said Charlie Becker, EAA’s director of chapters, communities, and homebuilt community manager. “This added schedule of programs focusing on EAA’s homebuilding heritage is only possible because of the leaders and companies within that community eagerly stepping up to provide in-depth information to our members and other aircraft builders.”
The Thursday night webinars, which start at 7 p.m. Central time, began on April 9 with Sebastien Heintz from Zenith Aircraft. Upcoming Thursday webinars, which are eligible for FAA WINGS and AMT credits through the FAA Safety Program, include:
- April 16: Choosing Wheels & Brakes; George Happ, MATCO
- April 23: Choosing and Using Tools for Your RV Build; Greg Hughes, Van’s Aircraft, and Mike Lauritsen, Cleaveland Aircraft Tools
- April 30: What’s Involved in Kit Building; Charlie Becker, EAA
- May 7: Critical RV Flying Skills; Rian Johnson and Mike Saeger, Van’s Aircraft
The free webinar series, supported by Aircraft Spruce & Specialty, began in 2010 with a limited schedule of offerings. It now features more than 550 archived webinars on a wide variety of aviation topics. The complete schedule of EAA’s upcoming webinars, which is regularly updated, is available at EAA.org/webinars. All archived webinars are available to EAA members, with selected webinar archives open for all website visitors.
