Chapter 241 Scholarship

July 2015 - With the North American P-51 Dream Maker as a backdrop, Gus Graves, 18, was introduced as the 2015 Dr. Wilbur O. Thompson Flight Training Scholarship recipient before a group of several hundred people enjoying EAA Chapter 241’s annual pancake breakfast.

A 2015 graduate of Sycamore High School, Gus is enrolled in KEC’s (Kishwaukee Education Consortium) aviation program while taking flight lessons at Fly America - DeKalb-Taylor Municipal Airport, DeKalb, Illinois.

Gus said he will use the money to complete his flight training toward his private pilot certificate this summer. He plans on enrolling in the Kishwaukee College flight program this fall. Gus is the 12th recipient of the Thompson Scholarship to date.
