EAA Expands the RC Flying Field Activities and Encourages Chapter Participation

May 2021 – EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2021 is just around the corner. If you are planning to join us at AirVenture, we invite you to visit our EAA staff and volunteers in the Blue Barn, home of EAA chapters and Young Eagles. See our EAA Young Eagles Build and Fly RC program materials displayed in the Blue Barn and learn more about the program.

If your chapter has already completed an RC airplane, we invite you to bring the airplane to the Blue Barn for display. Call us and ask to speak to an EAA chapters field representative (920-564-6322) or email us Chapters@EAA.org, and we will help work out the details to get the RC plane to and from the Blue Barn.

If your chapter is currently building an RC airplane, please consider decorating the aircraft with your chapter-specific scheme, and again, you are invited to bring it to AirVenture.

The EAA RC Flying Field is a great place to experience RC flying while at AirVenture. Each evening, beginning at around 7:30 p.m., RC modelers and fliers are invited to bring their RC plane to the Flying Field for fun flying. Representatives from both Horizon Hobby and from the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) will be available to help you.

If you already fly RC, and would like to be an RC Flying Field volunteer to share your flying skills with others using the EAA RC airplane provided at the field, contact us by emailing Chapters@EAA.org to learn how you can get involved. Volunteers are eligible to receive AirVenture volunteer credit.
