THE STORY of the WRIGHT BROTHERS and HOW THEY GAVE US WINGS (1903)
1:00 PM - 2:15 PM
Location: Hilton Theater - EAA Museum
Presenter: Dick Campbell
On a winter day in 1903, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, two unknown brothers from Dayton, Ohio, Wilbur and Orville Wright, changed history. It was the realization of a dream since childhood as the two of them achieved the first sustained, powered, heavier-than-air flight in a machine of their own design and construction. It was the first time a machine carrying a man and driven by a motor had lifted itself from the ground in controlled free flight. A new era had begun and the world would never be the same. This power-point presentation shows how they achieved this historical event.
