EAA Is Seeking the 2.5 Millionth Young Eagle
By David Leiting, EAA Eagle Programs Manager, EAA Lifetime 579157
Young Eagles Chairman Jimmy Graham will fly a commemorative 2.5 millionth Young Eagle on Wednesday, July 22, immediately preceding the afternoon air show during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026. The flight will depart from show center and return at show center with plenty of fanfare.
Since this flight will mark a significant milestone, and will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, EAA wants to ensure the youth flown is deserving.
To help identify the Young Eagle that will take flight with Jimmy Graham, EAA is asking chapters to nominate a deserving youth. This youth may have already taken a Young Eagles flight, or this flight opportunity could be their first. EAA’s main goal is to ensure the youth that gets to join will fully appreciate this opportunity.
If you know a young person deserving of this opportunity, have them apply at the link below. All youths must apply on their own, under recommendation from a chapter. If you have any questions, please email yeagles@eaa.org.
