October 2023 – It’s hard to believe the leaves are turning, and we’re well on our way into fall. Where did the summer fly to?

Our volunteer committee worked hard on new initiatives to increase Canadian presence at AirVenture. We appreciate the feedback that we received from those that completed our survey. We have already begun incorporating your suggestions, and I invite your continued input.

On another note, let’s talk insurance. I assume this is a common hot topic around the coffee table at every flying club and EAA chapter. Recently, I’ve relayed to EAA HQ my personal experiences with the aircraft and hangar insurance offerings to Canadians. I feel it is time for our displeasure (and compliments if there are any) to be expressed to EAA. How do you feel about the response time to your inquiries? The premium you were quoted? The coverage of the policy? Service if you made a claim? If you would like to share your opinions, I welcome your thoughts to my email at chair.eaacc@gmail.com.

As your chapters wind up your Young Eagles events for the year, we’d love to see photos and hear about them. Send them to newsletter.eaacc@gmail.com.

Lastly, if you would like to explore reviving or creating a new EAA chapter in your area, now is a great time! Shoot Phillip Johnson an email as he can provide you with guidance and answer your questions: chapters.eaacc@gmail.com.

Here’s wishing you happy flying this fall!
