Chicago media talk with Joseph Karriem and Sean D. Tucker following their Young Eagles flight on Thursday, August 13.

August 20, 2015 - EAA Young Eagles Chairman Sean D. Tucker continued his tradition of flying a Young Eagle at every air show stop when he performed at the massive Chicago Air and Water Show last weekend on the Lake Michigan shoreline. His Young Eagle for the flight was a participant in the Tuskegee NEXT program, which is carrying on the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen by supporting young African-Americans with an interest in flight.

Joseph Karriem of Evanston, Illinois, a 16-year-old member of the Tuskegee NEXT group, flew with Tucker on Thursday, August 13. Joseph is also a member of the Palwaukee Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol and has dreams of becoming a commercial pilot.

The Chicago media flocked to interview Joseph and Sean after the flight, building upon the visibility the Tuskegee NEXT program received on August 9 when it was featured on the CBS Evening News.

If you’re in the Kansas City area this weekend, be sure to catch Sean’s performances at the Kansas City Aviation Expo based at the Wheeler Downtown Airport.
