Alerting Alaska Members to New State Fee

December 7, 2017 - EAA Chapter 42 has alerted EAA headquarters that the state of Alaska has proposed an annual aircraft registration fee of $150 for every private aircraft based in the state. The Alaska Department of Transportation has a meeting on Saturday, December 9, to present its case for this new fee:

Date: December 9
Time: 1000 to 1200 AKST
Location:
Coast International Inn
3450 Aviation Ave
Anchorage, AK 99502
(Hotel with Pipers Restaurant)

The official Alaska DOT online meeting notice also has instructions on how to comment on the proposal if you cannot attend in person. Following the meeting, EAA Chapter 42 along with other general aviation associations will provide contact information for state officials so members can make their opinions heard on this issue.
