Volunteer Highlights: WomenVenture
By Margaret Viola, EAA WomenVenture Volunteer Chairman
June 30, 2020 – Volunteers are such a big part of EAA and AirVenture that we would like this extra opportunity to highlight them. Without volunteers, AirVenture wouldn't be able to function at its full potential.
WomenVenture
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2020 would have been WomenVenture's 13th year celebrating women in all facets of the aviation community. Each year during AirVenture, WomenVenture activities provide women the opportunity to meet other women who love aviation and build camaraderie within the EAA community.
This inspiring week includes the annual group photo on Boeing Plaza hosting more than 1,000 women, the Power Lunch with keynote speaker, a networking ice cream social, and special evening programming.
We had all of these events planned for AirVenture 2020, plus a few new features. With the cancellation of AirVenture, we are currently organizing new ways for WomenVenture participants to engage with EAA and each other in 2020 while we plan for an even more meaningful WomenVenture in 2021. We look forward to sharing new concepts for WomenVenture in the near future.
Within our operations, WomenVenture always has openings for volunteers. We rely on volunteer support to help manage our annual group photo on Boeing Plaza and to assist with check-in for the Power Lunch and ice cream social. If you are interested in becoming a WomenVenture volunteer for 2021, please contact Cassie Bruss at cbruss@eaa.org.
Thank you to everyone who has supported WomenVenture over the years. We look forward to seeing you all in 2021 when we return!
