Karen Kryzaniak
Vice President, Risk Management & Human Resources
Karen joined the EAA staff in March 1993 and was named Vice President of Risk Management and Human Resources in April 2017.
In this role, she manages all of EAA’s risk management activities and human resource functions. In the risk management area, that includes safety programs, security strategy and staffing, and insurance requirements for EAA’s programs and activities. Her responsibilities in the human resources area encompass staff recruiting and training, employee compensation and retention, and coordinating EAA’s large volunteer program, which includes more than 5,000 volunteers who serve during the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh fly-in convention each July.
Kryzaniak’s EAA career began as an insurance administrator and support for EAA’s 900 chapters. It also included development and enhancement of employee safety programs. In 1999, Kryzaniak was promoted to Director of Risk Management, under which she led emergency response programs and security functions. Her role also included added responsibilities for AirVenture parking, transportation, and camping areas in subsequent years. In September 2016, Kryzaniak also assumed responsibilities for human resources and volunteer programs.
