Shelly deZevallos
Shelly deZevallosShelly Lesikar deZevallos, Ed.D. is president of West Houston Airport, a privately owned-public use general aviation airport operated by her family. It is one of the busiest general aviation airports in the country with over 370 based aircraft. She started sweeping hangars at 8 years old and is now an active pilot and airplane owner with her SEL, MEL and Glider ratings along with her IFR and commercial certificates.
Dr. deZevallos is a member of the FAA’s Safety Oversight and Certification Advisory Committee and a board member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). She also serves as Chairwoman of the Texas DOT Aviation Advisory Commission. Dr. deZevallos serves her native Houston area on the San Jacinto Girl Scouts of America Council - focusing on aerospace and aviation workforce development.
She has earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas, her EMBA from Texas A&M and her Doctorate of Education in Aviation and Space Science. Dr. deZevallos resides in Houston with her husband, also a pilot, and her twin daughters.
Shelly joined the EAA Board of Directors in November 2022.
