Ultralight Runway

Flying for fun is the name of the game down at the Ultralight Runway, a 1,200-foot grass runway adjacent to the Ultralight Barn.

Morning and evening flight operations have been a signature event and one of AirVenture’s best kept secrets at the Ultralight Runway. Aviation enthusiasts can see ultralights, powered parachutes, weight shift trikes, homebuilt helicopters, and gyroplanes demonstrating "low and slow" flying.

Additionally, a mass hot air balloon launch is scheduled for 6 a.m. on Saturday (weather conditions permitting).
