EAA's Collegiate Sport Pilot Academy

Put Yourself A Level Above in your Career!

EAA’s Collegiate Sport Pilot Academy puts YOU in the pilot seat!

Ever dreamed of adding a pilot’s certificate to your résumé? The Collegiate Sport Pilot Academy Scholarship will cover tuition and onsite costs for sessions of the EAA Sport Pilot Academy.

The EAA Sport Pilot Academy assists aspiring pilots to obtain their sport pilot certificate during a three-week, all-inclusive training program at EAA headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. For three weeks, the scholarship recipient will stay on the EAA grounds and be fully immersed in the aviation lifestyle. Top-notch training and education gives you an opportunity to fully engage in aviation and give yourself a professional advantage.

The package includes group and one-on-one instruction, flight training, lodging, food, and plenty of camaraderie. In addition, EAA has scheduled a variety of activities that you won’t experience anywhere else, including guest speakers and meet-and-greets, EAA AirVenture Museum and behind-the-scenes tours, flight experiences in a variety of EAA aircraft, air traffic control tower tours, and more.

Your flight training will be conducted in a dedicated fleet of Cessna 162 Skycatcher aircraft, maintained to the highest of standards by our EAA aircraft maintenance staff. Our certified flight instructors are specifically selected and trained for this program.

What’s required?

  • All applicants must be 17 years of age or older, and will be required to go through an interview process and sign an EAA waiver to participate in the Sport Pilot Academy.
  • Before you get to Oshkosh, you’ll have access to Sporty’s Online Ground School for sport pilots, which meets or exceeds the FAA requirements ($249 value). You’ll need to complete the course and the FAA sport pilot written exam before arriving in Oshkosh to start your flight training.
  • You will also need to apply for a student pilot certificate.

If interested, please submit your current résumé and a letter stating how this training would help you further your career in aviation to Jon Eisele at jeisele@eaa.org. Please also include any aviation related organizations or activities in which you’re involved.

New schedule coming soon.
