Record-Breaking Fly-In: Chapter 141 Takes Advantage of ChapterBlast

August 22, 2017 - EAA AirVenture Oshkosh wasn’t the only fly-in to see a record number of aircraft and attendees during the month of July. Chapter 141 hosted its annual Spurwink Farm Fly-In Pancake Breakfast on July 9, and to the delight of the chapter, the crowds arrived in droves. The following was sent by Diana Chase, EAA 718406, who is a member and former secretary and treasurer of Chapter 141.

“On behalf of all of our members here at EAA Chapter 141 at Limington-Harmon Airport (63B), I am sending you a heartfelt ‘Thank you’ for sending out the ChapterBlast e-mail to EAA members about our chapter’s annual Spurwink Farm Fly-In Pancake Breakfast in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. This was our 21st Spurwink Farm pancake breakfast and this year it was a record crowd!

Spurwink Farm’s owners, Phineas and Mary Lou Sprague, have graciously allowed us to host our event at their beautiful oceanside farm for the past 21 years. They have a private turf strip, which is not on the charts but is beautifully maintained. They also generously donate the sausages and pure maple syrup for each table! We had 65 planes and one helicopter fly in for the event, plus lots of local people who drove in. It certainly was a full house and our members sure were busy all morning!
