Chapter 1240 Takes Advantage of New Simulator Policy

February 2017 - In late 2016, EAA successfully expanded its chapter insurance coverage to allow the use of flight simulators within the chapter setting. Many chapters have begun to take advantage of this policy expansion by incorporating simulators into their chapter activities.

EAA Chapter 1240 in Sebring, Florida, has recently taken delivery of a brand new Elite Flight Simulator. Chapter members were scheduled to take factory training in late January. Chapter 1240 expects to use the simulator for flight training as well as youth education.

Access to a chapter simulator can be an excellent means for chapter members and IMC Club participants to keep current, to introduce members who are not pilots to flight, and as a way to reduce training costs for chapter members. The simulators also allow chapters to expand their youth programming and recruit new members.
