Chapter Service Awards
Chapter Service Awards
Christopher Gauger, EAA 746128, EAA Chapter Field Representative I
September 2023 – In any volunteer organization, it is crucially important to thank your volunteers for all the time and hard work they commit to the organization’s activities. They are the backbone that keeps your organization standing and moving forward. EAA chapters are built on volunteerism, and the people who devote themselves to your chapter deserve recognition for their invaluable efforts.
Each December, EAA sends all chapters a kit that includes Chapter Service Award pins and certificates. This is our way of recognizing all our chapter leaders each year. We will send a service pin and certificate for the following chapter leadership positions:
- President / Squadron Commander (for EAA Warbirds Squadrons)
- Vice President / Squadron Executive Officer
- Secretary / Squadron Adjutant
- Treasurer / Squadron Financial Officer
- Young Eagles Coordinator
- Eagle Flight Leader
- Membership Coordinator
- Newsletter Editor / Squadron Information Officer
- Web Editor / Squadron Information Officer
- IMC Coordinator
- VMC Coordinator
- Scholarship Coordinator
- Technical Counselor
- Flight Advisor
In addition, we include a Chapter Most Valuable Person (MVP) pin for the purpose of recognizing an extraordinary member who goes above and beyond in their efforts to support your chapter and share The Spirit of Aviation. This person may not be a chapter officer, but they nevertheless devote themselves to your chapter and commit their time and effort to helping your chapter year after year. These individuals deserve recognition as well, and thus we include the Chapter MVP award to honor them.
The service award kit includes extra blank award certificates for your chapter to recognize additional volunteers and achievements. For example, you may want to recognize a volunteer who helped organize a pancake breakfast, or a member who led the building or restoration of an aircraft. If you need to make additional or replacement certificates, you can download our Chapter Service Award template from the EAA website and customize and print it. Download here >
We encourage chapters to present these service awards at a special gathering such as a holiday party or winter banquet. Make it a big occasion when your leaders and special volunteers are recognized for their efforts over the past year.
EAA chapters, like all other volunteer organizations, are driven by the hard work of their members. Never forget to thank the people who commit themselves to helping your chapter succeed.
