February 2024 – Well, by the time you read this, we should be in the clear from COVID, hurricanes, heavy snowfalls (hopefully, but it’s early yet), and looking forward to spring and the flying season. We even get an extra day this month since it’s a leap year.

I’m sure I speak for all of you when wishing Mike Davenport a speedy and full recovery from his recent seizure. He’s been a stalwart contributor to our newsletter and a good friend to those around him. In being medicaled-out of flying PIC, let’s hope some local pilots can help getting him to the airport and maybe in the right seat of someone’s baby. Maybe you’ll be giving Mike a new experience to write about!

We lost Chris Moran as our social media guru, and fortunately Clark Morawetz stepped up and has an update this month on where things stand. He has updates on Facebook and Instagram. There are already more than 600 followers on the @EAAinCanada Instagram page. If you’re like me, you’re a bit phobic about having too many different ways of getting your news, but maybe it’s time to get with the times!

Thanks to Raquel Lincoln, Mike Davenport, Clark Morawetz, and John Wyman, our contributors this month. If you see them, thank them for their efforts.

If you feel you have anything to contribute, please drop me a line at newsletter.EAACC@gmail.com. It could be brief, but ideally it would have something like 500 to 1,000 words and some special photos. If you think it’s interesting, others are likely to think so too.

If you have an adventure in the pipeline or a project reaching a milestone, why not write about it? It can be as simple as text in an email with a few photo attachments. Anything I receive by the second week of the month is pretty much assured to go out in the following month’s newsletter.
