Bringing The Spirit of Aviation to South by Southwest

March 16, 2017 - EAA’s Spirit of Aviation Mobile Experience trailer made its first stop at a non-aviation event at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. The trailer was positioned in the South by Southwest Create exhibit, which is the “hardware and maker arm” of the festival.

“Overall, it felt like a very natural fit to be a part of this event,” EAA Tradeshow Marketing Manager Tricia Rathermel said. “We were busier than we could even prepare for. Guests left the trailer wanting more information and inspired about aviation.”

During the three-day event, EAA staff and volunteers saw 5,000 visitors and festival staff commented that EAA was the “life of the party.”

Special thanks to members of EAA Chapters 958 and 187 as well as CFIs from the National Association of Flight Instructors for volunteering their time and expertise during the busy event.

The Spirit of Aviation Mobile Experience will make its next stop at the Sun ’n Fun Fly-In at Lakeland, Florida, April 4-9. We look forward to seeing you there!
