EAA Donates Hops & Props Food to Feeding America

March 19, 2020 - In light of our recent decision to cancel Hops & Props out of concern for the health and safety of EAA members, guests, volunteers, and staff, we decided to donate 515 pounds of food from the Hops & Props event to Feeding America.

Items donated include a variety of cheese, vegetables, bread, chicken wings, and chicken breasts purchased from our vendor, The Machine Shed. In addition to those items, EAA also donated 80 burgers, 40 pounds of brats, and 60 buns from EAA's kitchen that would have been served to volunteers working the Hops & Props event.

Feeding America volunteer engagement coordinator Dustin Herrmann said 515 pounds of food will feed approximately 429 people one meal.

"Donations like this are extremely important to our member pantries because produce is one of our very highly sought-after items, and being able to get fresh food like this is really great because a lot of the times the food that is donated to us is at the end of or even past its shelf life," Dustin said.
